Our story began in 1960, when the late Mr Sobhraj Mulani arrived in Dubai and entered the insurance industry at a time when the region was still governed under the Trucial States. On 20 April 1960, Jupiter General Insurance Company was registered at the Political Agency in Dubai by the British Consular Officer, under the Trucial States Order of 1959. That registration, over a decade before the formation of the United Arab Emirates, marked the beginning of a family commitment to the insurance profession that continues to this day.
What Mr Sobhraj Mulani built during those formative years went far beyond a commercial enterprise. He laid the foundation for a culture grounded in integrity, discipline, and the cultivation of long term, trust based relationships.
That culture was carried forward by his son, the late Mr Assandas Mulani, who guided the business through the establishment of the UAE, the rapid growth of the economy, and the evolution of the regulatory framework. Through industry shifts and changing market conditions, the values of integrity and personal service remained constant.
In 2004, this legacy was formalised with the establishment of Pioneer Insurance Brokers LLC, led by Mr Prem Mulani as CEO. Today, the fourth generation continues to build on those foundations, with Karan Mulani serving as COO, bringing the business into a new era of digital capability, international market access, and specialist expertise, while preserving the personal, relationship driven approach that has defined the family’s work for over six decades.
